Awhile ago, I found a very humorous article on Digg entitled “Be Careful What Pictures You Put On The Internet”. The picture in question wasn’t unprofessional — there was an item that was in the picture that had been overlooked. It would have made a great blog post, but the problem was that the humor in the picture would have been too unprofessional.
A recent article reported that Facebook has banned all nudes even when they are artistic — a throwback to the old Puritan days of New England. They determined that the New York Academy of Art violated its terms of service and blocked the school’s page in a decision that was later reversed.
All of this begs the question: when are subjects such as nudity lurid and when are they artistic?
